CA PROPOSED SCHEME 2023

The three levels of the CA Course and the three years of practical training have undergone some adjustments under the redesigned educational plan. Prior to that, the ICAI updated the CA course in 2017, introducing a new syllabus for the CA Foundation, CA Intermediate, and CA Final. 

The new CA syllabus for 2023 combines some papers from all three levels while removing others. The new model also shortens the CA article-ship time from three to two years.

How to Register for CA Foundation 2023

CA Registration Validity 2023

The registration done for CA Foundation will be valid for four years and can be registered only once. No re-registration is possible for CA Foundation under proposed scheme. However students can enter through Direct-Entry for CA Inter either by completing CMA Foundation or CSEET or Graduation.

The registration done for CA Intermediate will be valid for five years and re-registration can be done only once. Under the Old Scheme, candidates will be able to enter CA Intermediate only after completing a training period of at least nine months. Under the revised scheme, this condition is removed and students will be able to commence their training only after completing both the groups of Intermediate.

Note: The training period of three years is reduced to 2 years of article-ship and 1 year of COP.

The registration done for CA Final will be valid for ten years and re-registration can be done with prescribed fee permitted. 

CA Foundation Syllabus 2023

The CA syllabus 2023 for Foundation exam consists of 4 subjects as listed below:

• Paper -1: Accounting (100 marks)
• Paper -2: Business Laws (100 marks) 
• Paper-3: Quantitative Aptitude and Business Mathematics Logical reasoning Statistics (100 marks)
• Paper-4: Business Economics (100 marks)

Paper 1: Principles and Practices of Accounting

Fundamentals of Accounting is renamed by Principles and Practices of Accounting. This is the basic understanding of Accounting that students have gone through in 11th and 12th standards.

CA Intermediate Syllabus 2023

The Intermediate syllabus of CA consists of 8 subjects as listed below:

CA Intermediate Group 1 Subjects (New Syllabus)

• Paper -1: Accounting (100 marks)
• Paper -2: Corporate and Other Laws (100 marks)
